1. Information you provide to us

Everyside generally does not require you to create an account or provide personal information merely to read the site.

If you voluntarily contact us, subscribe to a feature that may be offered, submit a request, or otherwise communicate with us, we may receive information that you choose to provide, such as your email address, name, message, and related correspondence.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your request.

2. Information stored in your browser

Certain Everyside features may store information locally on your device using browser technologies such as local storage. This may include saved stories, selected city or location preferences, display preferences, dismissed notices, and similar settings.

Information stored solely in your browser is not transmitted to Everyside merely because it has been saved locally. You can remove this information by clearing Everyside's site data through your browser settings.

3. Analytics and cookies

Everyside uses Google Analytics to help us understand how the website is used and to improve its performance and content.

When you visit Everyside, Google Analytics may process information such as your approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, referring pages, interactions with the website, and the date and time of requests. Google may use cookies or similar technologies for this purpose.

Analytics information is used for purposes such as understanding aggregate readership, identifying technical problems, measuring website performance, and improving Everyside.

Google processes analytics information according to its own terms and privacy policies. Depending on your browser and applicable law, you may be able to restrict cookies, delete existing cookies, use browser privacy controls, or use tools provided by Google to limit Google Analytics measurement.

4. Server, hosting and security logs

Everyside is currently hosted using GitHub Pages and may use other internet infrastructure providers.

Those providers may automatically process technical information necessary to deliver and secure the website, including IP addresses, browser or device information, requested files, request timestamps, network information, and security-related logs.

Such information may be processed by those providers under their respective privacy policies and terms.

5. External publishers, images and links

Everyside provides links to news stories and other material published by third parties. When you open an original publisher's website, you leave Everyside and the publisher's own privacy policy and terms apply.

Some pages may also display publisher logos, images, favicons, or other resources obtained from third-party servers. Loading such a resource may cause your browser to communicate directly with that third party and may disclose technical information such as your IP address, browser information, referring page, and request time.

Everyside does not control the cookies, tracking technologies, data collection practices, or privacy policies of third-party publishers and services.

5a. X embeds and party-position sources

The Party positions hub may load selected posts through X's official embedded-post widget. Loading a widget can send your browser information to X and may cause X to process requests, device information, and interaction data under its own privacy policy. Everyside discovers recent public posts through the nitter.cf RSS mirror, verifies the post with X's oEmbed service when available, and does not directly scrape X timelines.

6. AI-assisted processing

Everyside may use automated systems and artificial-intelligence services as part of its news-processing workflow. For example, limited article text, headlines, publicly available article metadata, or extracted content may be processed to generate or improve summaries, headlines, classifications, comparisons, or other editorial features.

This processing concerns news and publishing material rather than individual reader profiles. We do not intentionally send your locally saved stories, personal browsing history, email address, or other information you provide directly to us to an AI provider for the purpose of generating news summaries.

AI providers may process submitted information according to the contractual arrangements and privacy terms applicable to those services.

7. How we use information

Where Everyside receives or processes information relating to you, we may use it to operate and secure the website, provide requested features, remember preferences, understand aggregate website usage, diagnose technical problems, respond to communications, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve Everyside's services.

We do not sell your personal information.

8. Sharing of information

We may share or permit processing of information only where reasonably necessary for operating Everyside, including with hosting, analytics, infrastructure, security, communications, and technology service providers.

Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a lawful request from a competent authority; to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or to protect the rights, property, or security of Everyside, its users, or others.

If Everyside or substantially all of its relevant operations are transferred, reorganised, or acquired, information associated with those operations may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

9. Data retention

Information stored only in your browser generally remains there until you remove it, clear your browser's site data, or the browser removes it.

Information received directly by Everyside, such as correspondence, is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was received and for legitimate operational, security, dispute-resolution, record-keeping, or legal requirements.

Analytics, hosting, and other service providers may maintain information according to their own configured retention periods and legal obligations.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we process and the operation of the website.

However, no website, internet transmission, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should therefore avoid sending confidential or sensitive information through ordinary website or email communications unless necessary.

11. Children

Everyside is a general-audience news website and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through account registration or personalised profiles.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information directly to us in circumstances where it should not have been collected, please contact us so that we can review the matter and take appropriate action.

12. Your privacy choices and rights

You can control certain information through your browser by clearing local site data, restricting cookies, blocking third-party content, disabling JavaScript where appropriate, or using browser privacy controls.

You may also contact us regarding personal information that you have provided directly to Everyside, including to request access, correction, updating, deletion, withdrawal of consent where applicable, or to raise a privacy-related grievance or question.

The availability and scope of particular rights may depend on the applicable law and whether the relevant provisions of that law are in force.

13. India data protection law

Everyside intends to process personal data in accordance with applicable Indian law, including applicable provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 as and when the relevant provisions become applicable.

Where consent is legally required for a particular processing activity, we will seek consent in the manner required by applicable law. Where applicable, you may withdraw consent through the mechanism made available for the relevant feature or by contacting us.

14. International processing

Some service providers used by Everyside may operate infrastructure or process information outside India. As a result, information processed through those services may be handled in countries other than India.

Where applicable, we will take reasonable steps to use such services consistently with requirements imposed by Indian law concerning the processing or transfer of personal data.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Everyside's features, service providers, technology, or legal obligations change.

The latest version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date above will be revised when material changes are made.

16. Contact and privacy requests

For questions about this Privacy Policy, personal information you have provided to Everyside, or a privacy-related request or grievance, please use our Contact page.

Please provide enough information for us to understand and respond to your request. We may need to request reasonable information to verify a request before acting on it where verification is necessary or required by law.

For privacy questions, requests, or grievances, use the Contact page. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or unnecessary sensitive information.
