Delhi Police detains Ankita Bhandari's parents, Congress leaders amid protest at India Gate

Shama Mohamed, speaking for the Indian National Congress, said the Narendra Modi government is "cruel and shameful." She said Ankita Bhandari's parents were detained at 4:00 AM at India Gate while demanding justice for their daughter, and she said the accused has been made Governor, while the rest of the statement is cut off. Gurdeep Singh Sappal of the Indian National Congress says it is a grave injustice that Ankita Bhandari’s parents are in police custody and that Dushyant Gautam will be addressed as "His Excellency" at Raj Bhavan.
