Assam power surplus and investment plan

Himanta Biswa Sarma said Assam aims to become power-surplus through renewables and storage as peak demand nears 4,500 MW. He said more than ₹1 lakh crore in power investments are in the pipeline and said the investments reflect trust in the party's policies and ease of doing business.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said Assam has launched its biggest-ever power project, a 3,200MW thermal power project in western Assam that he said will generate enough electricity to meet the state's entire power needs. He said the ₹48,000 crore project is a direct outcome of #AdvantageAssam2.0 held 18 months ago.
